NLMUSD Learning Models for Spring 2021

On March 1, 2021, the NLMUSD School Board voted to reopen elementary schools on the following dates:

• March 29, 2021 (Preschool and Grades TK – 2)

• April 12, 2021 (Head Start and Grades 3 – 5)

 

Parents/guardians have the option to choose whether their child(ren) remain(s) in distance learning or return(s) to school for in-person instruction in a hybrid model. Students who to return for in-person instruction in a hybrid model will be assigned by the District to one of two cohorts: Group A or Group B.

 

The learning model option (Option 1 or 2 below) you select for your child(ren) will be for the remainder of this school year. If we do not hear from you by Monday, March 15, 2021, staff will be reaching out to confirm your intent. If we are unable to confirm by Wednesday, March 17, 2021, your child(ren) will be placed in the revised distance learning model for the remainder of this school year.

 

Our goal is that most students will remain with their current teacher for the remainder of this school year to ensure instructional continuity for all students and families.

 

To ensure safety for all, the following will be implemented:

• Everyone entering the campus must adhere to all health and safety protocols as outlined in each school’s COVID-19 Safety Plan (available on your school's website).

• Face coverings are required to be worn at all times.

• Daily self-screening at home using a digital app and temperature checks at the gate will be required before coming onto campus.
